Floyd E. Bolton was faculty member in the Oregon State University Crop Science Department from 1967 until his retirement as an Associate Professor of Agronomy in 1990. Bolton earned BS and MS degrees from Oklahoma State University in 1959 and 1961 and a Ph.D. from Colorado State University in 1968. The Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station was established under the provisions of the federal Hatch Act of 1887. Agricultural experimentation began at Oregon Agricultural College in 1888.
